The Russian
side made an offer during a virtual meeting between the authorities on Thursday.
The supply is part of the crude oil supply of 100,000 barrels per day.
The Pakistani side, headed by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Mossadeq Malik, consisted of senior officials of the Petroleum Department and representatives of the petroleum industry, while the Russian side was made up of senior officials of the Ministry of Energy. and concerned departments.
Sources
familiar with the proceedings of the meeting told The News that the Pakistani
authorities informed their Russian counterparts that the country needs crude
oil, petroleum products, gas and investment in infrastructure.
The Russian side has informed the Pakistani authorities that it is ready to work with them and will discuss this matter in more detail when a Russian delegation visits Pakistan in the third week of January 2023.
They also
said that Russia will supply 100,000 barrels of crude oil to Pakistan per day.
However, Pakistani officials told them that the country's refineries were
engaged in water skimming and processing of light crude oil.
