The first batch of female drivers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have graduated to drive one of the fastest trains in the world.

The Saudi Gazette reported on Monday that the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) has qualified 32 Saudi women as conductors of the Haramain Express train.

And the Syrian Refugee Agency, via its official Twitter account, posted a video showing part of the training operations from inside the stand.

On his part, Coach and Train Captain, Muhannad Shaker, confirmed that Haramain Train is keen to train its male and female captains to achieve the highest standards of safety and security to ensure that the train moves from the station and reaches its final destination without delays or problems.

The female train captains expressed their pride in having the opportunity to become the first female train conductors in the Middle East. They pointed out that transporting pilgrims and visitors gives them the motivation to work with great care.

One of the trainees reported that he was trained to drive the Haramain Express train through a simulator that fully represents reality, as it contains a real cockpit, through which all weather factors and technical issues they may encounter when driving the train are completed. They are tested to help and prepare for real journeys.

The Kingdom's General Transport Authority said qualifying Saudi women to become drivers of the Haramain Express train is a continuation of women's empowerment in the transport and logistics sector.
