Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted the resignation of 35 more members of Tehreek-e-Insaf.
According to Express News, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted the resignations of 35 more PTI members and sent them to the Election Commission. Sources say that the Election Commission will take action on it today.
The resignations of 35 PTI members of the National Assembly have been accepted by the Speaker, including Dr. Haider Ali Khan, Salim Khan, Sahibzada Sibghatullah, Aamir Kayani, Amjad Khan Niazi, Syed Fakhr Imam, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Andalib Abbas. , Malika Bukhari, Mehboob Shah, Bashir Khan, Junaid Akbar, Sher Akbar Khan, Ali Khan Jadoon, Usman Tarkai, Mujahid Ali, Arbab Amir Ayub and Sher Ali Arbab.
The Speaker has accepted the resignations of 31 general and 4 specific seats. Out of the 131 members, the total number of successive resignations has reached 81, after which the members of the opposition party are reduced to 50 while only around 30 members are left in the House apart from the PTI defectors. According to sources, the meeting of the National Assembly to be held today has been postponed due to the resignations of PTI.
On the other hand, sources claim that the Electoral Commission has started the process of resignation of 35 other members of the PTI.
PTI members will be de-notified today by Election Commission. Earlier, the Speaker National Assembly had accepted the resignation of 34 PTI members and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on January 17.
Sources say that there is a strong possibility that the Speaker of the National Assembly will approve the resignations of more members on Monday. The consultation in this regard has been completed and now the lists are in the preparation stage. If the resignations of about 35 more members of PTI are accepted, the members of Tehreek-e-Insaaf will be left in very small number except the defectors.
The acceptance of the resignations of the members has proved to be a big shock for PTI because due to the small number of members, Tehreek-e-Insaf will not be able to be a part of the consultation in the federal caretaker seat. Meanwhile, the case of 2 PTI members Muhammad Mian Soomro and Shakur Shaad is also pending in the court.
